I believe Chain Reaction and Swordplay are getting updates later this year to bring them in line with some of the newer rulesets like 5150: New Beginnings and the new Long Rifle/Muskets & Mohawks games. The later games do read a lot better than the earlier ones, though - the rules have evolved a bit, and the presentation is much better. Rally Round the King is a big-battle fantasy game which uses DBA-like bases, Warrior Heroes A&A is a skirmish game. I can say with confidence that the rules can handle multiple figures on the table without bogging down. It's also one of the reasons their games are great for solo play. This means that other characters aside from your Star may not do those things that you want them to do. The biggest difference between the two is that Stars can choose how they react for most things on the reaction tables while Grunts do what the dice tell them to do. There are two types of characters in the game- Stars and Grunts. Characters are defined by a single stat (makes things much easier), but can have abilities that flesh them out further. Going by memory here, so if someone sees any info that is incorrect, please correct me. The games play 1,000 times better than they read.
